Odds Review- Rehearsals Day 4: 03/05/22

Tuesday saw the second half of semi 2 take to the stage for the first time. There’s practically nothing to say regarding Ireland, North Macedonia, Estonia and Romania. All are bringing the expected performance and few minds will have changed on their in/out prospects. Estonia remains the best of the bunch but is too short whilst Romania is all about the numbers game and if there’s enough of a neutral televote out their to supplement the base diaspora points.

Poland is an increasingly incoherent package but is something I want to see properly before coming to too much of a judgement. The diaspora and to a certain extent more Eastern countries in general should still be interested so Ochman remains in my provisional top 10.

Montenegro isn’t the styling disaster it may have been but the dullness of the song does not appear to have been helped. Solidly NQ.

Belgium have seen a bit of a move out in the odds with the staging based around the weaker second half of the song. Needing that jury push you assume.

3rd favourite Cornelia for Sweden brings the same performance from melfest which is fine. It’s certainly less damaged by the much maligned sun turning into a black hole than some others. Again, no opinions should have changed either way based off what we’ve seen from this.

The Czech Republic closed the show and it’s hard to tell if they’ve thrown too much at this in a bad way. Camerawork essential to see how all their lighting comes across.

Now let’s bring on some proper footage as we head back through semi one for the second rehearsals tomorrow!
