Armenia 2022: Rosa Linn with ‘Snap’

It's been a while coming, but Armenia's 2022 entry has finally been officially released:

This is uncharted territory for Armenia who have rarely send a tonally positive song or one lacking in ethnic identity and certainly not the two combined. The intensity that Armenia typically bring is non existent here which may be a deliberate attempt to improve results that have been on a downward curve. I personally prefer their more typical entries but it's only fair they're allowed to mix things up.

‘Snap’ is incredibly unspectacular and middle of the road but there is a gap for this kind of entry when done well. It does spell trouble for Croatia in the semi final with the other Taylor Swift-esque entry but this does have a little niche that should see it do alright, even if the ‘no-ones favourite’ tag could possibly be attached.

Rosa is a little bit of an unknown and it's a big stage for her. I wouldn't expect her to have to do any heavy lifting with the staging for this kind of song which eases concerns.

We've got the full semi line up and this presents a stronger package than some of the others on the cusp so should be through picking up middling points across the board. It's hard to tip for much in the final but just being there would be nice for Armenia having last featured on a Saturday night back in 2017- a run which would have sounded unbelievable back then.

Personal Rating: 6/10

Competitve Rating: 6/10

Early Prediction: Semi 1 6th-10th, 13th-17th in the final
