Odds Review: Week Ending 08/01

Following the release of the mgp snippets Norway are the big loser in the outright market. Not only is there no entry with obvious winner potential, heavy odds on favourite Ulrikke may arguably not be the best option either (this stands after the full version was just released too). I'll save my full thoughts for the mgp preview in the pipeline which is just waiting on more industry odds than just the Ulrikke vs the field, in the hope the outsiders are priced wrong.

Latvia were starting from a lower base but have still found room to dissapoint with their supernova lineup. Participants include the ever present and ever-rubbish Markus Riva whilst 2016’s Justs is also present and an early frontrunner for ‘worst returning Eurovision act of the year’'.

Ireland are having a better time of things with their artist leaks prompting some enthusiasm on the exchange. There's especially low liquidity on this one now as we await songs from probably the bigger hitters in the selection.

Serbia have also seen several rumours surrounding their lineup with 2007's Marija Seferovic the most notable name. There’s been a little downwards movement but there’s less certainty over the lineup here before even discussing the potential.

Away from the music and lineup news, the only other development is the Czech Republic hosting a full live national final.

The coming week brings clarity over the lineups in Serbia and Finland whilst we also get the Dora entries for Croatia. Most notably, we get our third song of the year confirmed when Belgium finally pick their entry after a full week’s buildup.
